In 1989, Brenda Hampton was in property management when she noticed a lack of high-quality temporary housing. She decided to meet that void, and the result is a one-of-a-kind business, Hampton Corporate Suites.
Hampton began the company as its sole employee working out of her Central West End apartment. Today, the company is well-known nationwide as one of the top firms in its industry, serving many of the areas largest corporations in St. Louis.
The company serves homebuyers displaced by construction delays, businesspersons temporarily assigned to the St. Louis area, executives and professional athletes in town for athletic seasons and health care patients awaiting transplants. Instead of staying in a small hotel room, Hampton Corporate Suites offers clients fully-furnished apartments and condominiums.
At any one time, as many as 150 to 250 clients may be scattered around the region - some needing housing for 30 days, others for up to two or three years - with an average stay of three to six months.
What has helped us succeed is our services, Hampton said. We take care of everything for the client. We do everything from hooking up utilities to furnishing and decorating the apartments. We really try to make the experience as easy as possible for our clients.
